The Tales of Beedle the Bard - J. K. Rowling

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The book is perfectly charming and short enough to read in one sitting.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard contains five richly diverse fairy tales, each with it's own magical character, that will variously bring delight, laughter, and the thrill of mortal peril. Additional notes for each story penned by Professor Albus Dumbledor will be enjoyed by Muggles and wizards alike, as the Professor muses on the morals illuminated by the tales, and reveals snippets of information about life at Hogwarts.
This was an enjoyable read with beautiful illustrations and great values. The introduction and the notes on each story written by Albus Dumbledor are delightful additions to the book. I enjoyed hearing Dumbledor's "voice" in those notes and could just about picture him lecturing students on the very valuable messages and lessons this tales have to offer. There are also the little references to some of our favourite and not so favourite characters from the Harry Potter series. This references are not at all overdone, just a little flavouring to a sweet book.
Each of this five tales contains a life lesson for children and parents alike, from the importance of thrusted friendships to the redemptive power of love, and the true magic that exists in all our hearts.
Potter fans will be familiar with Rowling's wit and imagination and will enjoy this tales that are meant to have enchanted the wizarding world for centuries.
